Dr. Tanja Wittrock and her family member Kai

Dr. Tanja Wittrock was born and raised in Northern Germany and moved to the US as a young teenager. She received her BA from the University of Kentucky and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University. In 2001 she moved back into Northern Michigan where she founded Equine Veterinary Services. In addition to providing ambulatory care to horses in Northern Michigan, Dr. Wittrock is an Adjunct Professor at MSU, College of Veterinary Medicine, Practice Based Ambulatory Program as well as a Veterinarian for the USEF, FEI and AQHA Drugs and Medication Program. She is an 

active member of the Michigan Equine Practitioners Association, holding the position of President several years, and now serves on the Board of Directors, Equine Committee of the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association. In 2011 Dr. Wittrock was the recipient of the "Legend of the Year Award" at the American Association of Equine Practitioner's Annual Conference.

Privately, Dr. Wittrock enjoys spending time with her family, swimming, hiking, biking and gardening in addition to the many other activities our beautiful area has to offer.
